- Watches we claim to have tested
Everyone in this space implies a test lab. We don't have one, and we say so — what we do instead is compile the published manufacturer specs, do the lug-width and wrist-fit math, and cite our sources. That is the whole trust angle.

The name is a measurement
The lug is where the strap meets the case
"Lug & Leather" is a strap-sizing idea. The lug width — the gap between the lugs, in millimeters — is the one number that decides which strap fits your watch, and we print it for every watch on the site. Our lug width chart lists dozens of popular models, so you can buy the right strap the first time.
The difference
What we do that the retailers don't
Prices that are actually live
Every price comes from Amazon's API and is stamped with the date we checked it. If our data is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears and the button says "Check price" instead. It never shows you a stale figure.
The lug width, every time
We print the lug width for every watch, so you always know which strap fits — and we cross-link every watch to the straps that suit it. No competitor we found builds that connective tissue.
A published rubric
Every score breaks into named metrics, and /how-we-review explains exactly what each one means and where the numbers come from. The scores are judgments from documented research, not measurements we invented.
We do not run a testing lab
And we're not going to write "in our testing" as though we do. We compile published specs, do the math, cite our sources, and tell you plainly when we couldn't verify something. No store, no sponsored picks, no free products.

How this is funded
We earn a commission. Here's exactly how that works.
Lug & Leather is funded by the Amazon Associates program. When you buy through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. No brand pays us for placement, no manufacturer sends us watches, and no commission rate has ever changed a ranking — which is why you'll find a $60 Casio ranked alongside a $675 Hamilton on this site, judged on its own merits.
